- Hi, Palu! даждь is not a Russian word, it's a Church Slavonic form, singular imperative of дати ‘to give’.--Cinemantique (обсуждение) 23:58, 13 апреля 2016 (UTC)

- *Daďьbogъ is usually considered a Proto-Slavic innovation, a compound of *daďь (imperative of *dati ‘to give’) and *bogъ ‘god’ or ‘welfare’. So this name possibly means ‘giving god’ or ‘one who gives welfare’. Some authors think that *daďь is a possessive adjective from a lost Proto-Slavic word *dagъ ‘day, light’ (cf. Gothic dags, German Tag etc.). Victor Kalygin and Václav Blažek compare *Daďьbogъ with the name of Irish god Dagda.--Cinemantique (обсуждение) 03:25, 14 апреля 2016 (UTC)
- My source (MÁCHAL, Jan. Bájesloví slovanské. Olomouc : Votobia, 1995. ISBN 80-85619-19-9. S. 79. Czech.) is speaking about "dažd" (imperative of "dát") + "bog" (in original meaning "richness"). Its the reason why im searching for "даждь" entry, to finish image about this etymology. Dažd is unknown word in czech, he must to mean another language an i meant that he is thinking about Russian, because he is speaking about Dažbog as about Russian god.
